Best Intentions

Well, here we are almost 2 years later....
I guess I'm not very good at keeping up with this blog. Life gets in the way I suppose....

Today is my only daughters birthday, 34 years old, doesn't seem possible, I certainly am not old enough to have children in their 30's!! ha, ha

My 2 youngest boys are getting ready to start school, one is going to art school and the other is going to tech school for auto services. After the dust settles, I'll get back to my blogging, see you then!

Back To School

First of all, I want to wish my 1st born a very happy 34th birthday today. It just seems like yesterday he was born.....
So, the boys started back to school last Thursday, P., my baby is a freshman, and D., is a junior already. I think they were both excited to get back to their friends, etc. D. has been working alot and isn't running CC this year, but P had his 1st meet Saturday, he did awesome! I pray their school year goes well. This is the year D should start thinking about college seriously and I'm curious as to what he'll be when he grows up! heck, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up....
Just checking in, I'll be back when I have something more interesting to write about.

Sunset Beach, NC

I really can't believe it's been so long since I've written on my blog, I have good intentions, doesn't that count for something!
So, here I am in Sunset Beach, NC once again. We have been coming here since 1996, with the exception of 2 years, 2000 & 2009 when we went to Disney. I never tire of just looking and listening to the ocean, all the folks having on good time on their vacations. This is my favorite place in the world (so far), haven't seen the whole world yet!
Although I miss the boys being little and enjoying their wide-eyed amazement, I sure am pleased about how things have changed as they grow up also. They didn't fight on the way here, didn't argue over who gets the "good" bedroom (it is Pat's turn), and they even went to walk on the beach together last night. They just might turn out okay......lol....they do have a great father for an example!
Well, I'm going to spend some time catching up on some of my favorite blogs out here on the veranda.

Finished a new purse last night, was going to list it in my shoppe, but I must keep this one for myself. At this rate, I'll never make much money.....lol

As good as it gets....

This is the news the Doc gave me Monday. I was suspect of that fact, given that I've obviously had Lupus all my life. The last med he gave me was horrible, way too many side effects, wasn't helping at all. I will stick with the Plaquenil for now, and some remedies for the Sjogren's ie dry eyes and mouth. Other than that, I just keep trodding forward, never knowing what each day will bring. I just wish the warmer weather would stick around. enough with the blues...

On a much brighter note, I have been getting in some creative time....along with trying to organize all my unfinished projects. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't start any new project unless I finished at least 2 that need completed. I am sticking with it rather well so far,  but it is only February 18th mind you...lol

Sick of the cold weather....

Enough already Mother Nature!
It's bad enough not feeling good, but this cold and snow makes me feel even worse...
I felt a little better today, at least not coughing non-stop, so I did some mundane housework, so I would not feel guilty about playing this evening with my quilty/crafty artsy/fartsy stuff.
I got some new goodies in for the shoppe, so I've been checking it all in, and will begin listing tomorrow morning. New patterns and books, and some charm packs.
My 2 youngest boys have birthdays this week, Donny turned 16 yesterday & Patrick will be 14 tomorrow. They both are testing tomorrow for licenses, Donny for the car (ahhh!) and Patrick is getting a moped license. I can't wait for Donny to drive, no more having to drive his butt to and from school, yay! I can actually make afternoon plans now with no worries....
Time to go play, between yawns, I'm pooped, will be an early bedtime tonight!

ready for warmer weather!

I am so sick of this cold & snow, reminds me of my days growing up in Utica, NY. It's only January 30th, so we've got a ways to go yet before Spring. I'll just try to stay as warm as possible to avoid the stiff muscles and bones.
I took a paper piecing class yesterday from a great quilt teacher. I learned to paper piece long ago, and thought I knew how. I took the class just to hang with my Sis and my bestie. Well, I sure learned a much better way to paper piece, I am so excited about it. It makes the process even more awesome. I got 2 blocks done to use in my Sylvia's Bridal quilt to replace 2 other blocks that I don't care for.
I was going to sew/quilt all day since I got my tax paperwork done for DH to file. But, I thought I'd color my hair first, which is hard by myself, with achy arms to boot. While I waited for my hair to "cook" I started cleaning out the hall lined closet, which turned into cleaning the whole master bath & bedroom. Did laundry, too. I was ready for a nap after that, which I indeed did take, almost 3 hours! Came down here to play & realized I had many orders to prepare for shipping. I just now finished that job, and it's almost 9pm. I hear DH up above me making a nice fire, so I'm sure he wants me to come watch some TV with him. Did I even sew today? nada.....better luck tomorrow!!
