After 20 years, I finally have a diagnosis, I do have Lupus/Sjogren's disease, and a few other ailments, as if that isn't enough. I am so NOT happy about this, but I AM happy to have options now. I knew all along it was Lupus, I have every symptom, but supposedly the blood tests were negative....for almost 20 years?! I am a little sceptical needless to say, that the blood tests were really negative, why did it take going to a doctor in Cleveland to get some answers? and why was I never sent there before? I guess I'll just be grateful that I can hopefully find the right combination of meds to help my misery. Will keep posted about my journey....
I also finally have my decorations put away, and I plan to sew all weekend, barring any changes with MIL. She is still in hospice, and will probably go back to nursing home tomorrow. She's a fighter for sure...
I must continue getting all my shipping prepared for tomorrow, then I can sew!

Bbbrrrrrr
Wow, it is sure cold down here in my creative space.....
I finally finished Janet's quilt.....so glad it's done! Now, I can quilt some of my own tops that have been waiting not so patiently. I will quilt the St. Patrick's quilt next, then we'll see from there.
Dear MIL is still in hospice, resting peacefully. She's a fighter, that's for sure. We told her that Dad was waiting for her. Still, it's just so sad to loose the matriarch of such a big family.
Stepson Colin & his wife got their house Thursday after a long haul, & they are so excited! DH & Patrick have helped them all weekend, wish I could do more, but I'm just not physically able, so I just stay out of the way.
Christmas stuff is still up....yeah, I know.....as my sis-in-law said, maybe we'll have Christmas in July!
Back to quilting, just needed a break from bending over the quilter.....lol
Smile & be kind!

keeping up?
I have been having a real time trying to keep up with this blog!
I have such good intentions, but just not enough time I guess. How do all these other busy people do it? I think I'll try to schedule myself a little better. My mom always made a list every night of what she palnned to accomplish the next day. I think my sis M does, too. I've started before, and that goes by the wayside, too.
Christmas was awesome as always, my fav time of year. Had all 5 kids home for Christmas dinner, I so enjoyed that. But, I got sick that day, at first thought I ate too much, but realized that wasn't the problem.
My dear MIL went to hospital Dec. 30, and is now in hospice care. It's only a matter of time now, she is resting in comfort. I didn't go visit tonight, have a tummy ache, but DH and P went to visit. They are on their way home with Hamburger Station burgers, not sure if I will be able to eat any though. But, little D sure wants some.
I have block class tomorrow, but since it is snowing pretty good, I'm not sure if I'll venture out. Time will tell.....
Til next time, sweet dreams

wow....must be Christmas time!!
That's why I've been too busy to post....I guess....lol
My favorite time of year is here once again, and as always, is slipping by way too fast. Why can't it last longer?
We are almost done shopping, but still need to wrap. I've done no baking whatsoever & will probably only make no bakes & rice krispie treats. What???? Yeah, just because I will eat too much if I make more. I'll be happy with pumpkin pie again on Christmas Day....with whipped cream of course.
gotta run, time to pick up D from school....

And so it begins....
I have always loved the whole holiday season all my life. From Halloween, right up until Valentine's Day. I'm struggling a bit this year with nostalgic grief. I just made that up, I think. Never heard that description before....lol......I hope this feeling doesn't get worse as I get older. My memories should bring me joy, not tears. It seems every song brings on the trip down memory lane and the sadness of not having my Grams here and my parents here, and my sister Kathy who passed from a drunk driver, and my bro & sis that both live far away. I am lucky to have one sis close, she was my lifesaver. I cried at each little ornament that my kids made for me as I hung it on the tree, especially the ones with their pictures on them. Where did my babies go? ohhhhh....please stop it!!
Here's three pics from Thanksgiving Day dinner, maybe more later...

Gobble, gobble!!
Finished my Thanksgiving lap quilt.....too cute! Poor turkey looks weird....just sayin'....
Time is flying by, the older I get, the faster it goes......sigh...
Have to get the dining room ready for the feast, I hate waiting until the last minute. Just one year, I'd love to be able to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade just like I always did as a child. If I planned dinner for much later, I could easily fit it in, but I like to have the meal about 1pm. Then after cleanup, I can relax the rest of the day. I guess I can't have it both ways, darn it...
33 days til Christmas...

It's growing on me....
I am happy with the progress I'm making on this piece. I had to resist the temptation to add bright pinks and lime greens. I would actually like to use this in my family room, and pinks and greens aren't going to flow.
Been having a few decent days sprinkled about. But, when I hit the wall, I hit it hard.
A week until Thanksgiving Day...
I get to see all my children, Ed is coming home. I sure miss Grams the most this time of year. The holidays have never felt the same without her, and that is sad. I hope I am not ruining the celebrations for my children. I suppose I need to think of some new traditions that will mean as much to them without Grams.
Time to play while I feel alive!
Smile and be kind!
